HOME MADE MITER SAW
I ran across a cool little saw attachment for a power drill at the flea market
and thought it would make the perfect chop saw head. I then began
designing the rest of the saw around the head. At this point the design is
around 80% complete. I plan to cast the parts out of aluminum and machine
then on my 13x25 lathe. More to come as the project progresses.
To the bottom left are all but one of
the foam cores requied to cast the
parts for the compound saw. The
sprues have been covered with a thin
layer of plaster.
Above is a picture of the base casting being
turned on my 13x25 lathe. And to the left is
the assembled saw, not quite complete but
getting close. 12/3/06
